- Sheila Kay Adams is a nationally acclaimed, award-winning author, singer, song writer, claw hammer banjo player, guitarist and storyteller. She has received multiple awards for her work including the North Carolina Heritage Award and a National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment of the Arts along with the Brown Hudson Award from the N.C. Folklore Society in recognition to her valuable contributions to North Carolina folk traditions.
- William Ritter is an award-winning historian, author, folklorist, singer, songwriter, and can play most any stringed instrument—and play it well. He has devoted a good part of his adult life to documenting the contributions of old time Appalachian musicians and ballad singers, many of whom, such as the late Ray Dellinger and Bobby McMillon, were his mentors.
