The Mountain Acoustics Luthier gathers thirty-five luthiers from NC, TN, WV, VA, SC, GA and FL to offer their stunning, handcrafted, acoustic string instruments including mandolins, banjos, guitars, dulcimers, ukuleles, harp and variations of these instruments. Attendees have the opportunity to compare and order that dream, custom instrument! The Vintage String Instruments exhibit is a big part of the event and new this year. This exhibit will include 90 instruments with some dating into the 1800’s. An amazing private collection not to be missed arranged in chronological order. Heads up for collectors! The Silent Auction will include a luthier built violin crafted by Master Luthier, David Chandler, and valued at $3,500.00. Other opportunities on the Silent Auction tables include a day of guided fly fighting with Southern Appalachian Anglers, stays at luxury hotels such as The Greystone Inn on Lake Toxaway, TKL/Cedar Creek custom instrument cases, a golf game for four at the stunning Mountain Air Country Club and more. A Guitar Raffle in support for the event is currently offering raffle tickets for $5.00. They are available at Appalachian Java and the OOAK Gallery in Micaville currently and will be available at the event with the drawing on Sunday, 10/17, at Town Center during the event. The guitar is luthier built with photo and details on the event website. The guitar is valued at $1,200.00. It is not necessary to be at the drawing to win.
Our Covid Policy will stay within the NCDHHS requirements and we will also follow CDC recommendations in keeping the event safe for all.
Come and enjoy the Luthier Jam on Friday evening Saturday and Sunday enjoy exhibitions, workshops, vintage displays, silent auction. The Saturday evening concert proudly presents multi-Grammy and CMA award winner, Mark and Maggie O’Connor. Concert takes place at the First Baptist Church on the square in Burnsville.
