“A Tribute to Traditional Music” is the name for a larger-than-life metal sculpture depicting a fiddle, banjo, and guitar which stands in front of Hayesville Town Hall, across the street from the courthouse square. A small plaque at the base of the sculpture speaks to the roles of each instrument in shaping various strands of traditional music in the region. The sculpture is on located along the Quanassee Path, a two-mile Cherokee history trail that runs from the outdoor Cherokee Homestead Exhibit to the Spikebuck Mound/Quanassee Town site.
Sculptor Joe Miller of Miller Forge in Brasstown designed and created the sculpture, which was commissioned by the local nonprofit Clay County Communities Revitalization Association (CCCRA) with funding support from the Town and from a Blue Ridge National Heritage Area grant. The sculpture was dedicated in September 2017.
