One of a Kind Art Gallery, established in 2011, continues to grow with the works of over 170 local artists in the nostalgic Old Micaville Country Store. Gallery owner Kari Weaver welcomes you to come on in and enjoy the fine, folk, and funky local art made primarily in Yancey and Mitchell counties from a diverse and well-established local community of artists. The selection of artwork includes pottery, jewelry, paintings, prints, photography, lamps, glass, wood, and more, and are uniquely displayed in the vintage 1922 building with much of its original architecture still in place, right down to the original hardwood floor and windows.
While there, you are more than likely to be listening to music, either live or via CD, written and played by local musicians. The gallery hosts the Micaville Music Jam every Saturday morning year-round and Micaville Music Concert Series on Thursday evenings from late April to October on the OOAK Deck.
The gallery is open seven days a week from the first day of Spring through the first week of January, Monday – Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm. February and March, hours are Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The gallery closes each winter for the month of January.
